Our next production is something truly special: the Shakespearean favourite Twelfth Night, a classic tale bursting with love, laughter, and a healthy dose of mistaken identity. This much-loved comedy follows the adventures of Viola, who, after being separated from her twin brother Sebastian in a shipwreck, disguises herself as a young man and takes up service with Duke Orsino. The Duke, hopelessly in love with the elegant Countess Olivia, sends Viola to do his wooing, but Olivia unexpectedly finds herself falling for Viola instead.

What follows is a delightful muddle of romantic mix-ups, mischievous plots, and larger-than-life characters. Expect pomp and pranks from the ever-serious Malvolio, whose world is turned upside down by a trick or two, and roars of laughter courtesy of Sir Toby Belch and his merry band of troublemakers.

Whether you’re a seasoned Shakespeare fan or new to the Bard, Twelfth Night promises a joyful evening full of quick wit, heartwarming moments, and theatrical magic. Join us for a lively and accessible performance that brings this timeless comedy to life for our Long Eaton community.

Arcade Players welcomes new members to our amateur dramatics society. We are a supportive and friendly group who are always on the lookout for those who enjoy being either onstage or backstage.

I joined Arcade in May 2019 to fill the ensemble cast for Cheshire Cats and was welcomed with open arms as the youngest member in years. Over the past six years I’ve been in seven shows (going on eight) and learned so much about comedy roles, straight roles, Shakespeare and become a master of quick changes showing off my singing skills along the way too! I love the Arcade family dearly and wouldn’t trade those years for anything.
