For over 85 years, the Arcade Players have brought every corner of the theatrical world to the stage in Long Eaton. From laugh-out-loud comedies to nail-biting thrillers, heartfelt dramas to reimagined classics, we believe in the power of producing great theatre performances in Long Eaton.
A Proudly Varied Repertoire
We don’t specialise in one type of play. We specialise in doing them all, and doing them well. Every season is an opportunity to surprise our audiences and stretch our creativity.
Our recent line-ups have included everything from the quick-fire wit of Cash on Delivery and Two Into One, to the poignancy of Cheshire Cats, the suspense of Suddenly at Home, and the nostalgic charm of Stepping Out. We’ve even tackled Shakespeare, with Twelfth Night coming to the stage in November 2025.
Whether it’s farce, mystery, social comedy or classic storytelling, we approach each production with the same commitment to quality, character, and connection.
A Stage Full of Talent
Our casts are made up of local performers from all walks of life, united by a shared love of theatre. Just as important are our backstage crews—the set builders, sound designers, lighting operators and stage managers—whose expertise brings every production to life with polish and precision.
We also love to experiment with formats. In 2022, Variety is the Spice of Life featured four short plays in one evening, giving more members a chance to shine and offering audiences a unique, fast-paced theatrical experience.
A Tradition of Excellence
We’ve been performing regularly since 1939, traditionally staging three full-length plays per season—a remarkable level of consistency and dedication. Our home is the Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton, a beloved venue where large audiences turn out to support local theatre at its best.
We’re proud of our long-standing relationship with the Co-operative Group, whose support has helped us continue to grow artistically while staying rooted in the local community.
